Autumn Clothing Review:

(OUTFIT DETAILS - Shoes: Vans. Jeans: New Look. Top: New Look. Jacket: Primark.)

We are soon approaching the end of autumn, arguably the best season for your wardrobe. Supporting the influx of transitional jackets, chunky boots and blanket-like scarves. Among some of the more conventional autumn styles, there were a variety of new trends showcased within the 'big four'.

1. GORGEOUS GLOSS
Following the glitter filled festival season, vinyl and patent fabrics were all the range, this continuation is seen within this seasons outerwear. Critics describe this as  'spill-proof and rain-proof' adding a modern twist to the common rain mac. Chic cuts mean that this outerwear frequently follows tailoring styles, influencing the convincing figures portrayed when wearing the item.

Tod's AW18 runway shows the effortlessly elegant style of a traditional trench coat paired with an unorthodox fabric. Nevertheless contributing to the additional texture of the look when matched with the suede knee-high boots.

Miu Miu exaggerates the sleeve and shoulder detail with the crimson coat placing attention on the belted waist, adding the detail to the figure of the model, yet also a sense of practicality of layering in the colder weather.

2.  ANIMAL ANTICS
Accentuating head-to-toe tones, nothing but boldness whether its leopard, tiger, leopard or snake. The runways were awash with pelt and skin prints of all kinds. From neon red, lilac and acid green giraffe prints at Marc Jacobs to seriously sophisticated swooshing snakeskin chiffon at Emilia Wickstead and bold tiger prints seen at Adam Selman and Dolce & Gabanna, this season we’re on safari.

However, both high-end and high-street retailers stocking unbelievable amounts of leopard print items - could this take the top spot of seasonal prints? Personally, one of my favourite items was showcased in the Carolina Herrera AW18 runway. The long-line woollen coat is not only a highly transitional piece but maintains the stylish chic image of leopard print.

3. BOSS LADY TWEED
Last season's runway saw nearly every front row influencer wearing tweed suit jackets, the trend is not set to end anytime soon. As weathers change, brand products have to diversify to suit the demands of the consumer. The characteristically dependable, heritage tweed left behind any previous signs of typically fussy, passé labelling and instead was reincarnated with an injection of unapologetic, contemporary vibes that saw the trend go from dowdy to desirable.

Chanel works within their element as they are able to present their timeless tweed jackets and skirts, with the utmost sophistication and class.
