Starting 6th Form ~ Honest Review:

Image result for revision tumblr

As you can tell from the lack of posts recently I have been pretty busy, this is due to starting 6th form...

The subject's I originally chose to take were...
- English Literature
- Psychology
- Government and Politics
- History

However - a week into 6th form I was having such a strong disliking towards history, I thought to myself if I was this unhappy after a few lessons I'm not going to be able to manage 2 years of the course. Consequently this lead me o drop the subject so instead I was able to pick up the business course which I love and as some of you may know was one of my favourite subjects at GCSE.

English Literature:
So far I have started learning the context for Christina Rossetti's poems, for anyone who has done GCSE English then you will know the struggle of having to learn 15 different poems all with different contextual information so in that respect it is easier.
Also we have just started reading The Great Gatsby, I love the film so I think the book will be as enjoyable and again in contrast to GCSE such a small proportion of the exam paper is based on language analysis. This means that the majority of the exam responses will be made up of contextual information.

Psychology:
THE MOST INTERESTING SUBJECT!!!! I would definitely recommend this subject to anyone who wants to know the reason behind everything. Despite the workload for this subject which is intense it is most certainly worth it.

Government and Politics:
For this subject I would only recommend it if you already have a good understanding of the political world before taking the subject because there will be debates and people will expect you to give your opinion on global events. My biggest pieces of advice for this would be to keep up to date with the news.

Business Studies:
From my experience so far I have found that it is very similar to GCSE in the respect that the content is very similar just in more depth. The evaluation part of the exam technique is what will get you the higher grades therefore there is more of a focus on that.

I hope this post helped anyone looking into A level options. If you want to see more school update posts like this be sure to follow me on bloglovin and leave a comment below.
