Christmas 2020 Gift Guide:

One of my most requested posts of the festive season has been to do a 2020 gift guide. I know how difficult this year has been for many and I've had a few messages from friends and comments from readers about how COVID has meant that they were unable to work. This is something that has also touched my family so I fully understand some of the financial difficulties that people are facing across the country. In this gift guide, I want to include ideas to suit everyone's budget so I will be showing you three categories; Under £5, Under £10 and Under £20. Christmas shouldn't be able the gifts that are exchanged, it should be about spending time with the people you love, although we're having a different celebration this year there are still so many ways you can show people you're thinking of them and celebrate virtually. My wonderful mum has also helped me with this post to come up with ideas to suit everyone, so a big thank you to her. A quick disclaimer that I will be using affiliate links throughout this post, it won't cost you anything or change your experience on retailers websites, it just helps me to track engagement and make a commission.

Under £20

For the skincare lovers, try the Mario Badescu Mini Set that includes; Enzyme Cleansing Gel 29ml – a gentle, everyday cleanser, Buttermilk Moisturiser 29ml – a hydrating moisturiser, Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs & Rosewater 29ml – a radiance-boosting face mist, Super Collagen Mask 12g – a firming face mask, Hyaluronic Eye Cream 3g – a nourishing eye cream, Vitamin C Serum 10g – a brightening skin serum. Retailing at a discounted price of £15.95 (RRP: £20)

Men can be so hard to buy for, especially once they get to a certain age (like my Dad) what do you buy the man who has everything? In my house, all my parents ask for is a cuddle and that we spend the day together, but still I love to treat them to the things that they wouldn't buy themselves. My dad loves cheese and I've found a Beginners Cheese Making Kit on John Lewis, priced at £20 it fits within budget and is a gift that can get the whole family involved. The set includes everything to make Mozzarella and Burrata from the comfort of your own home.

Grandparents can also be tricky to buy for, my Nan's birthday is also just over a week before Christmas so it's a real double-whammy for her! Each year I try and get her something nostalgic that reminds her of the things she once loved when she was younger. Last year, I got her a classic pair of leather gloves, she loves to wear these in winter and often wants different colours to go with different outfits. M&S do a great selection of leather gloves within budget every year. Priced at £17.50, this is an amazing price for such a timeless wardrobe staple.

Under £10

I was talking to my Mum the other day about this post and she reminded me that you don't always have to buy one specific item. In our family, we like to do little gifts that can make up an afternoon. For example, for the lady in your life, you could host an at-home pamper day. Superdrug does some amazing and affordable products to help you with this. Some of my favourites include the Nourishing Foot Pack which is an amazing honey-infused foot mask that helps you achieve an at-home pedicure for just £1.99. To go with this you can also purchase a foot file to help with any dry patches, just £2.99. To finish off the at-home pedicure I would highly recommend getting a thick moisturiser and a nail polish such as the Bloom Pink Peony and Cashmere Cream (99p) and the Barry M Gelly Polish (£3.99). All of this totalling to £9.96 just under our £10 budget but can be a whole morning/afternoon of pampering, at a much cheaper price than the salon. This could also be done with a manicure or even a hair spa day with a hair mask and head massage.

For the coffee lover in your life, flavoured syrups can be a great gift there are many different price points for these such as the £3.99 ones in HomeSense (my Dad's personal favourites) but if you're looking for something a little more luxurious, Whittard has released via John Lewis a set of four coffee syrups. The Coffee Syrup Quartet contains; Hazelnut, Salted Caramel, Vanilla and Chocolate syrups. For £10 you are getting a fabulous range of luxury flavours at an affordable price point.

Under £5

It wouldn't be Christmas without some kind of game, and this year I've found curtesy of John Lewis the game version of a family favourite TV Show... Catchphrase, priced at just £4.99 this card game is perfect for the whole family to play throughout the festive season.

Making something yourself can be a great gift to show someone how much you care, homemade gifts show thought and consideration. In my family we love all things baking and Christmas is the perfect time to get in the kitchen. A super easy and child-friendly idea is Christmas Chocolate Bark.

                                                                         You will need:

(Prices are based on ASDA, but other supermarkets are available and prices may differ)

                              - A bar of your favourite chocolate (Cadbury's is my favourite) £1

                                                                        - Red M&Ms £1.25

                                                                          - Pretzels £1

                                                                     - Edible candy eyes £1.25

                                                                             = £4.50

1) Melt your chocolate either in the microwave or on the stove. Remember if you're using a microwave do it a few seconds at a time, take it out, give it a stir and put it back in to prevent burning.

2) Lay parchment paper on a baking tray, and pour melted chocolate onto it. Use a spoon to move the chocolate on the paper to form a smooth and even base.

3)  Use red M&Ms as a Rudolph nose below two candy eyes and pretzel antlers, leave to set in the fridge.

4) Cut into shards then serve!

Following on with the homemade theme, a memory scrapbook can be an amazing gift. The Free Prints App allows you to get 45 free prints a month, you just pay postage which is around £1.50. The Range has some great stationery options and I've found a beautiful black ribbon tie scrapbook for just £3.79. If you want some ideas on how to design your scrapbook, Pinterest has some amazing ideas.

I hope my gift guide has been helpful and given you some ideas to kickstart your Christmas shopping. I've tried to include something that everyone will love and to suit everyone's budget.

Have a wonderful Christmas! xx
