Beauty Buys: Glossybox

Next in the Beauty Buys series is the world renowned Glossybox, who I believe is one of the first companies to start offering a beauty subscription box. They're known for their timeless and classic pink packaging. When you make your Glossybox account, it gives you the option to fill out a survey about your personal beauty needs and wants, I found this to be immensely helpful, I only noticed this function after my first box had been approved so only received tailored boxes for two of them rather than three.

Pricing and Postage

Pricing is a really tricky one to talk about because there are so many discounts and vouchers readily available to use on Glossybox subscriptions. On this particular occasion I managed to use a code that gave me an extra two free boxes and another code that meant my first order was only £8. However the usual price for a Glossybox subscription is £13.25 a month. This includes all postage fees.

Value for Money
Glossybox guarantee that every single box purchased will exceed the value of £50 so there is always and aspect of good value for money because you get what you pay for. However I wouldn't say that there's always a good range of products or that the products in the box are of high quality. For example, after sampling the Beautaniq Beauty Nourishing Mascara I can say that I probably wouldn't be reaching for that very often because there's much better alternatives. But this would make a great gift for the beauty lover in your life, someone who love sampling new products and giving them a go.

Comparison to other boxes
Whilst I will use all of the products inside the boxes I'm not sure if would be happy to pay full price every month, some of the items are very generic and are things that you'd only want every so often. I wish the survey had a bigger influence over the products you'd receive. However, I still think that this would be a great gift to the beauty lover in your life.

Whilst restrictions are easing, coronavirus still exists, let's all play our part to keep our loved ones safe. Remember to observe social distancing guidelines, wear a mask and keep up to date with government legislation.
