Nail Inspo 2023

S.I. Beauty Nail Portfolio

In todays post I'm going to be discussing the nail trends for 2023, giving you inspiration for your next nail appointment. 2022 was the year of the glazed doughnut nails with celebrities and influencers flocking to the salons to have their own take on this iconic trend. Since the pandemic we've seen an influx of people moving away from acrylics/extensions in favour of a more natural look. In last year's post, I discussed my own BIAB nail journey and how I wanted to take care of my nails and improve growth and strength. Over the last 12 months my nails have become better than ever and that's due to regular appointments and at-home care.

Before I get started with this post I'd like to let you all know about my wonderful nail lady Sara (S.I. Beauty), all of the photos featured in today's header photo are examples of her work. I see Sara every 4/5 weeks for BIAB treatments on my nails. I've spoken many times about the importance of self-care and getting my nails done is just one way I like to relax! For any of my Surrey-based readers, Sara is based in Windlesham with an at home salon, she does lots of other beauty treatments including brow waxing/tinting, lash tinting and make-up. For those of you who aren't within a commutable distance to Surrey feel free to check Sara out on her socials for beauty inspiration (S.I. Beauty, muasaraiannaccone).

Sara's Top Nail Aftercare Tips:

1. Use cutical oil daily
2. Remember your nails are jewel not tools
3. Avoid soaking your hands in water. forlong periods of time (wear gloves when washing up)
4. Never pick or peel your gels off
5. Book regular appointments for maintenance

TOP TREND PREDICTIONS FOR 2023

Lip Gloss Nails

These nails are set to be this years equivalent to the 'glazed donut' trend. Following the clean girl aesthetic, lip gloss nails are the perfect addition to your self-care routine. They hide imperfections whilst remaining neutral and sophisticated. This trend accentuates healthy natural nails, they're ideal for those of you who are starting your BIAB journey. Expert manicurist Iram Shelton states “Shades like OPI’s Bubble Bath and Love Is In The Bare are perfect for clean, simple nails.”

Micro-Manicure

I think it's safe to say that timeless chic styles are continuing to dominate our Pinterest boards. The micro mani trend offers the opportunity to add a pop of colour to your usual french manicure. The thin line detailing keeps the design looking fresh and elegant - another extension of the clean girl aesthetic. The ultimate design to add a little luxury to your everyday look.

Viva Magenta, Pantone 2023 Colour of the Year.
"It is a shade rooted in nature descending from the red family and expressive of a new signal of strength. Viva Magenta is brave and fearless, and a pulsating colour whose exuberance promotes a joyous and optimistic celebration, writing a new narrative.  It is a new animated red that revels in pure joy, encouraging experimentation and self-expression without restraint, an electrifying, boundary-less shade that manifests as a stand-out statement. PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta welcomes anyone and everyone with the same verve for life and rebellious spirit. It is a colour that is audacious, full of wit and inclusive of all." - Leatrice Eiseman

Heart Motifs

With Valentines Day around the corner I couldn't not include some of my favourite heart designs. I think these are also perfect for throughout the year not just in February! You don't have to go for the classic pinks and red for this to be a beautiful design, monochromatic colours also work really well. I know I'll be carrying on this trend throughout summer.

What are you favourite trend predictions for this year? Let me know in the comments!
