1) How did you both meet?
Delilah: 'We met through a friend in my halls, Katie had known Lottie previously so was there unpacking with her and we got chatting.'
Meeting Delilah through a friend was useful because I already knew Lottie prior to moving to uni so getting along with her flatmates was always going to be a bonus.
2) Are you on the same course?
Delilah: ' No I do TV and Film Production, although we both do arts subjects so are working towards a BA Degree.'
3) How do you find living either with or so close to friends on a campus university?
Delilah: 'I would say it's really nice because you can see people whenever you want but there's also the space to chill and spend time on your own.'
Being on a campus uni does mean that you live in a little bubble aside to the real world, there are so many facilities on campus that you may never even have to leave if you didn't want to so there's the perfect balance of socialising and independence.
4) Do you have different ways of completing assignments?
Delilah: 'In some ways yes... I will research and read not long after the assignment has been set but I won't then write until the week leading up to the deadline, for me, writing is the shortest part of the process. It also depends on whether I'm doing theory or practical.'
5)If you could change one thing about first year what would it be and why?
Delilah: 'Our third term literally being completely ruined. But other than that probably having better people in our flats, it would've been nice for Katie to have had at least one person she got along with.'
I completely agree, having good flatmates can completely change your university experience, especially when living on a campus-based university. Other than that maybe just getting involved with more societies as a social opportunity.
6) What are you looking forward to about second year?
Delilah: 'Doing the specific modules on my course that I've chosen to do.'
7) Favourite memory together?
Delilah: 'Dancing in the kitchen on the dining table chairs listening to Sam Fender clapping our tongs to the beat has to be up there with one of the faves.'
That was a good memory and 100% one of the highlights but one of the funniest ones is us on our way back from Staines when we'd been on a bit of a Primark spree. The heavens opened and it poured down, all our Primark paper bags disintegrated and we were in hysterics.
8) What's one piece of advice
you would give to someone starting uni about making friends?
Delilah: 'Be open to getting to know people from all different parts of uni, not just your halls, talk to people on your course and around campus.'
Nights out are also a great way to meet people, especially during freshers week, me and Delilah have both said that around 90% of our friends have come from nights out.
