WFH: Desk Essentials

 

We've all been spending more time at home over the last year and finding a suitable work environment has been challenging. In today's post I want to talk you through my work from home desk essentials. These are the items that make my WFH experience more enjoyable. 

Before we consider adding more items to this space, you need to find an environment that makes you feel motivated and where you will be most productive. This space needs to be organised and free from clutter and things that will distract you. 

Signature Scent

If my work space smells nice and homely I feel more relax and inclined to work. As I've previously spoken about, I use a combination of wax burning and aromatherapy diffusing. I've trialed a variety of scents but I now associate using those devices with having a productive day. Some of my favourite scents for during the day include; sweet orange, vanilla, strawberry and Seychelles (The White Company) 

You should enjoy using your desk space and I think by finding your signature scent you will look forward to being productive. Candles can also be a great addition to your work environment. These relaxing additions make being the the same environment 24/7 a little more bearable. 

Notes of Nature 

It would be a blog post by me if I didn't include some sort of floral addition to my WFH routine. At the moment I have a vase of daffodils and Susan the succulent. Susan was a gift from my old work when I first moved to uni. If you're hopeless at keeping plants alive or don't want the commitments of buying fresh flowers perhaps look into some dried bouquets. 

Etsy is the place to look for things like this, there are hundreds of small businesses offering every colour combination you could ever imagine! 

Staying Hydrated 

In order to stay productive you need to make sure you're looking after yourself and staying hydrated is crucial. If you hadn't already guessed, I love anything pastel and floral. This set from Urban Outfitters was dreamy when I first saw it. I have two of the glasses and I use them on a daily basis.  I also have the reusable Starbucks tumblr which has been a firm favourite desk essential. 

Coronavirus is spreading, let's all play our part to keep our loved ones safe. Remember to observe social distancing guidelines, wear a mask and keep up to date with government legislation.
